EnviroVac is seeking to hire a self-motivated goal-oriented person to fill the Truck/Fleet Mechanic position at our Jacksonville, Ilinois location. Applicants must have a current Class A CDL preferably with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements. EnviroVac allows a 90-day grace period to obtain the endorsements if the applicant does not currently have them on their CDL.


Perform repair and inspection work on all fleet vehicles in a safe and efficient manner. Document all repair and inspection activity conducted on fleet vehicles in order to maintain compliance with all applicable DOT regulations. Communicate directly with the vehicle operators in order to complete the necessary repairs requested. Perform routine preventive maintenance lubrication and service interval activities. Fleet equipment includes; Semi-tractors, tankers, vacuum tankers, end-dumps, vans, roll-off trailers, flatbeds, forklifts, small engines, service trucks and other mobile equipment.


Knowledge of engines and controls
Knowledge of transmissions and controls
Knowledge of brakes and suspensions
Knowledge of hydraulic systems (wet-line power to trailers)
Knowledge of computer systems and data logging
Skilled in diagnostics and repair of electrical systems
Skilled in DOT inspections
Skilled in the operation of pneumatic and other powered tools
Ability to perform tire repairs including mounting/dismounting
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach
Ability to wash and clean vehicles and the work areas
Ability to push/pull
Ability to lift/carry up to 100 lbs.
Ability to grasp tools
Ability to discern colors
Ability to perform repetitive movements (wrench sand other tools)


Heavy Duty Truck technical training or 2 years related experience
Current and valid Class A CDL with Class "X" Endorsements (90 Days allowed to obtain the endorsements)
