EnviroVac – Waste Transport Systems

December 12, 2014

TERMINAL LOCATION: Arkadelphia, AR (Gum Springs)

EnviroVac Waste Transport Systems is hiring qualified Class A CDL drivers with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements to operate Class 8 Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV’s) transporting petroleum refinery waste products from various locations from the Gulf Coast namely Houston/Galveston TX and New Orleans, LA. There will be other origin facilities that will be involved with this driving position; however, the main focus will be Gulf Coast refineries.

The waste being transported evolves from the interior cleaning of the aboveground storage tanks that are commonly associated with petroleum refinery operations. Over time, the tanks become burdened with excessive amounts of solids that are naturally occurring in the crude oil base product and from the catalyst utilized to chemically crack the hydrocarbons into refined petroleum products, i.e. gasoline. The material that will be transported is normally a thicker somewhat granular matrix that has a typical petroleum odor. The type of tanker used to transport the material is either an agitated liquid tanker or a dry bulk tanker for those wastes that have undergone liquid separation.   EnviroVac operates as a sub-contract transporter that provides the power unit and driver only. The tanker equipment belongs to the refinery tank cleaning company.

There are only a few facilities in the nation that can receive and dispose of the waste materials due to the permitting requirements promulgated by the US Environmental Protection Agency. The facilities that EnviroVac will be transporting refinery waste to are as follows: Foreman AR, Cape Girardeau, MO Greencastle, IN Artesia, MS Holly Hill, SC Fredonia, KS and Chanute, KS. The kilns that receive the most of the material due to their ability to process more volume are Greencastle, IN and Cape Girardeau, MO.

Drivers are not required to load or unload the material. Specialized personnel are responsible for those activities. EnviroVac drivers are responsible for safe and lawful operation of the CMV at all times. Each driver will receive the proper training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to be on the refinery property and to ultimately provide protection to the drivers.

EnviroVac trucks that are to be utilized in this project are 2013 and 2015 model year Kenworth T660’s Aerocab Flattop 62” sleeper trucks with 500HP Cummins engines, 13-speed Road Ranger transmissions, full gauge packages, extra wide air ride seats, CD/Sirius radios, and many other creature comforts for the driver’s benefit. Each truck is equipped with GPS and electronic hours-of-service logging devices for driver safety and ease of route management.
